Refundid for AI assistants

The Refundid connector lets Claude, ChatGPT and Codex look up information in your Refundid merchant account while you chat. Access is read-only. The assistant can't approve, process or change returns, and it can't issue refunds.

What you need
  • A Refundid merchant portal account with Returns access to at least one store.
  • Claude on the web, desktop or mobile, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or Codex.
Connect from Claude
  1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, and find Refundid. If you can't find it, choose Add custom connector and enter https://mcp.refundid.com/mcp as the URL.
  2. Select Connect. Claude opens a Refundid sign-in page.
  3. Sign in with your usual merchant portal account. If your organisation uses single sign-on, sign in the same way you do for the portal.
  4. Check the app name, the website you'll be sent back to, the access being requested and the stores listed under Your stores.
  5. Select Allow access. Refundid sends you back to Claude and the connector is ready to use.

In Claude Code, run claude update first, because older versions can't sign in to Refundid. Then run claude mcp add --transport http refundid https://mcp.refundid.com/mcp, start Claude Code, run /mcp and choose Refundid to sign in.

Connect from ChatGPT
  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Apps, and find Refundid. If it isn't listed yet, turn on developer mode and create an app with https://mcp.refundid.com/mcp as the URL and OAuth as the authentication. On Business and Enterprise plans, a workspace admin may need to allow this first.
  2. Select Connect. A Refundid sign-in page opens.
  3. Sign in with your usual merchant portal account, using single sign-on if your organisation requires it.
  4. Check the app name, the website you'll be sent back to, the access being requested and the stores listed under Your stores.
  5. Select Allow access. Refundid sends you back to ChatGPT and the connector is ready to use.
Connect from Codex

In Codex, run codex mcp add refundid --url https://mcp.refundid.com/mcp, then run codex mcp login refundid to sign in. The Codex app uses the same setting.

What the assistant can see

One connection covers every store where your account has Returns access, including stores you're given access to later. Refundid checks your current permissions each time the assistant asks for information, so removing someone's store access in the portal takes effect straight away.

The assistant can search your returns by RMA reference, order number, customer, status, tags or date, and open a single return to see its items, refund, tracking and any exchange. It can check whether an order can still be returned and which resolutions the customer would be offered. It can also read store settings: tags, dispositions, return shipping labels and shipping webhook settings. Shipping webhook settings need the settings permission for that store.

Example prompts
  • Which Refundid stores can I access?
  • Show me this week's returns in Refundid that have an integration error.
  • Find the return for order 1042 in Refundid and tell me where it's up to.
  • Can the customer on order 1042 still return their items, and what refund or exchange options would they get?
  • Which return tags and dispositions are set up for my store?
Staying connected and disconnecting

Signing out of the merchant portal doesn't end the connection. It expires after 30 days without use, or after 90 days at the latest, and then you sign in again. You'll also need to sign in again if your single sign-on identity changes or a store belongs to a different SSO organisation.

To disconnect, remove Refundid from the connectors or plugins settings in Claude, ChatGPT or Codex. Deleting your Refundid account also ends its connections.

Privacy

Refundid never sees your password for the AI assistant, and the assistant never sees your Refundid password. Refundid only receives the requests the assistant sends to the connector, not the rest of your conversation. Information Refundid sends back is then handled under the assistant provider's own terms and privacy policy. Our Privacy Policy covers AI assistant connections in more detail.

Troubleshooting
  • If Refundid shows Unable to connect, go back to the assistant and start the connection again.
  • If a store is missing, check that your account has Returns access to it in the merchant portal.
  • If a store shows Sign in with SSO, sign in to that store's organisation first, then approve the connection.
