Checkout+: understand what funds the free offer

Checkout+ combines software and return labels for eligible US and Canadian domestic returns. Check how shipping is funded, what shoppers pay and which return outcomes are covered.

Return Bar availability depends on location. Check coverage where your customers live.

Essential: returns operations from US$155

Essential covers return policies, destinations, carrier selection and Workflows. Choose it for the operational tasks you need to automate; unlimited destinations and policies are not exclusive to this tier.

Advanced: retention tools from US$340

Advanced adds Shop Now, Instant Exchange, Bonus Credit and fraud prevention to support exchanges and store credit alongside refunds.

The starting-price gap is US$185 per month, or US$2,220 over 12 months. Compare that extra spend with the margin retained through additional exchanges, not just the sales revenue retained.

Tracking has its own price list

Tracking is a separate product. At the 2,000 monthly shipment setting, Loop’s current pricing page shows Starter at $99 per month, Premium at $189 and Plus by quotation.

Tracking has a flat fee for estimated shipments and a per-shipment charge above that volume. Loop advertises a 10% bundle saving, with returns-and-tracking savings tied to an annual contract.

Count shipments separately from orders: split fulfilment can create several shipments per order. Include resends and peak-season demand in your forecast.

The costs and terms to check before signing

Annual commitment and renewal

Paid Core plans require an annual contract. Standalone Tracking and the free option can run month to month, according to Loop’s FAQ. The FAQ calls the free option Offset Free; the plan cards call it Checkout+. Have the applicable term recorded in your agreement.

Monthly invoicing does not mean a monthly contract. Check the end date, renewal notice and cancellation terms.

Your quoted volume and billing basis

Give Loop your annual returns, monthly shipments and peak-season forecast. Your quote should state included volumes, minimums, overage rates and any price-review points.

Tracking overages do not establish how Core is billed. The public Core cards do not list a universal per-return overage rate.

Support eligibility

Performance review meetings and a Merchant Success Manager carry a 20,000+ annual order condition across all Core plans. Dedicated onboarding and the dedicated support team are listed separately without that note.

Below that threshold, establish what support is included before choosing a higher tier.

Shipping, implementation and optional services

Budget separately for software, return labels, optional products, implementation and tax. Identify which charges are included, metered or paid to another supplier.

What Australian retailers should budget for

Checkout+ advertises US and Canada domestic return labels. That inclusion does not cover a Sydney-to-Sydney parcel. Australian retailers need local shipping terms; the label restriction alone does not establish software eligibility.

Check local carriers, Return Bar coverage, integrations and support hours, then test an Australian domestic return in the demo.

Model currency changes separately

Core is billed in USD according to Loop’s Shopify listing. To budget in AUD, divide the USD fee by the US dollars one Australian dollar buys. These scenarios are illustrative, not current exchange rates.

Who is Loop a good fit for?

Loop is worth evaluating for its broad returns product and exchange tools, especially where the North American shipping offer fits your customers. Measure the retention benefit before paying for Advanced.

Smaller brands should check support eligibility; Australian retailers should check local shipping economics. Model both an ordinary month and your busiest month.

Switching from Loop: what to check first

  1. Contract timing. Confirm your end date, renewal notice and remaining obligations before planning a cutover.
  2. Data export. Check how to obtain return history, RMA records and open cases in a usable format.
  3. Integrations. Map your store, 3PL, warehouse, helpdesk and carriers. Confirm each connection with the replacement platform.
  4. Shopper experience. Rebuild and test the portal, policies, notifications and links. Include exchanges, refunds and declined coverage.
  5. Outstanding returns. Decide which platform owns cases already in progress, then test reconciliation and support handoffs.
  6. Launch window. Leave time for testing and avoid your busiest returns period where possible.

Include integration work, testing and staff training in the switching cost.
