Chemist Warehouse accepts change of mind returns for 7 days, counted from the day you buy in store or the day an online order arrives. The item has to be unopened and unused, in its original packaging with any manuals and accessories, and you need proof of purchase. Medicines, fragrances, vitamins, baby formula, food and a few other categories can't be returned for change of mind at all.
Chemist Warehouse doesn't accept change of mind returns on:
Everything else has to come back unopened, unused and in saleable condition. In practice that rules out most opened skincare, make-up and health products for change of mind. Returns that don't meet the policy aren't refunded.
Online orders have to go back by mail. Chemist Warehouse won't process returns of website orders in its stores. To start a return, contact Chemist Warehouse through its Contact Us page and choose Returns. It sends the return address once your return is being processed.
For change of mind, you pay to send it back. Chemist Warehouse refunds the item price to your original payment method, but not the original shipping or the return postage.
Click and Collect and Fast Delivery orders are different. Take those back to the store that processed the order. Purchases paid with Afterpay or Zip can't be returned in store either, so contact Customer Service for those.
Products marked Online Only are sold by Chemist Warehouse Marketplace partners. They get 30 days for change of mind from delivery, but they go straight back to the seller, not to Chemist Warehouse or a store. Marketplace sellers don't offer exchanges, don't refund delivery or return shipping on change of mind returns, and may charge a restocking fee.
Marketplace items that can't be returned for change of mind include personalised items, personal care and hygiene products, clothing and other items that touch the body, cosmetics and make-up, bedding accessories, perishables such as food, baby formula and vitamins, and anything advertised as non-returnable.
Chemist Warehouse says its returns policy is in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. If an item is faulty, it refunds the price and the shipping costs to your original payment method. It asks you to contact Customer Service within 7 days of buying in store or receiving an online order.
That 7-day request is the store's process. The consumer guarantees themselves aren't limited to 7 days. They last for a reasonable time, depending on what the product is and what it cost. Our guide to faulty vs change of mind returns explains how that works.
Chemist Warehouse doesn't publish a Christmas or holiday returns extension. If you're buying gifts, the 7-day change of mind window still runs from the purchase or delivery date, and fragrances, which are popular gifts, can't be returned for change of mind at all.
7 days for change of mind, from the day you buy in store or the day an online order arrives. Marketplace (Online Only) items have 30 days from delivery and go back to the seller.
Not for change of mind. Scheduled medicines, prescribed or over the counter, are excluded. If a product is faulty, contact Chemist Warehouse Customer Service.
Not for change of mind. Fragrances are on the list of products that can't be returned unless they're faulty.
No. Online orders go back by mail only. The exception is Click and Collect and Fast Delivery orders, which go back to the store that processed them.
Not on change of mind returns, where neither the original shipping nor the return postage is refunded. For faulty items it refunds the item price and the shipping costs.
